Leinster Gliding Centre @ TY2023

It was with pleasure that Leinster Gliding Centre attended this year’s Transition Year Show at the Sport Ireland Campus.

As an organisation, we are determined to be as open and inclusive as possible. Further, we recognise the enormous contribution that sports such as gliding can make to STEM training. Joining us at the event was one of our past Air Cadets who has since progressed on to hold a Commercial Pilot’s License and is working towards a career in commercial aviation. Several past members have gone to be commercial pilots and also to work in aircraft engineering.

Gliding is known as a valuable gateway into aviation, a route that is relatively inexpensive and we hope to see some of this year’s TY students dropping out to us in the future.
