Congratulations to Owen Grogan who completed his Silver C Distance. Owen used the club’s Ka8 to do one leg of the Silver Badge, the 50k distance. Owen also narrowly missed out on his Silver C Duration by a very short time. Owen went to Bagenalstown which is around 57 to 60 km away and came
Congratulations to Mick Shannon who completed his Silver C Badge. Mick used the club’s Ka8 to do two legs of the Silver Badge, the 50k distance and the 5 hour duration. The Silver Height Gain was achieved in 2019 at the Ulster Gliding Club. Mick went to Bagenalstown and came back via Athy, over Kilrush
Another good achievement today – Damien Molloy stayed up for 5 hours 14 minutes, gaining a Silver duration. Many congratulations to him! It was not easy, with a slow start with weak thermals disintegrating every 7-10 minutes, slightly stronger later, followed by a fallow period as the top cloud cover came in earlier than forecast.
